Hohl Industrial Services is a leading industrial constructor in the Great Lakes region, providing a broad array of structural construction field and shop services for virtually any need, from challenging capital projects to routine maintenance tasks. We specialize in projects requiring the installation of significant process equipment.
With 70 years of experience, we have successfully delivered solutions in just about every market, working directly for owners, equipment manufacturers or leading engineering firms and construction managers. In the public sector, we have earned a reputation for the quality of our work in building and modernizing bridges, as well as water and waste water plants. Our main services include rigging, millwrighting, steel fabrication and erection, heavy hauling, as well as diving and marine construction.
Hohl Industrial Services was founded as a supplier of material handling and supporting equipment in Buffalo, New York by Frank Hohl in 1950. In 1989, the company was acquired by Jack Hohl and his son David. After being acquired, the company expanded its services into construction and various equipment installations. When Jack retired in 1995, David took over as owner of the company. Today, Hohl Industrial Services continues to flourish under David’s leadership, and with his guidance, has become a premier industrial contractor.
From the beginning, our philosophy has been to find a better way to help clients meet their project needs. Throughout the years, our people have worked tirelessly to expand and improve operations, resulting in continued structured and strategic growth. As we rapidly expanded, our operations moved to an 18-acre site with a 72,000 square foot facility for shop services, supporting rail siding, and a spacious equipment yard and laydown area. A warehouse was added on the Niagara River complete with a functional port servicing the Great Lakes and beyond. In addition, design build and general construction services were introduced for equipment-intensive projects. From the beginning, Hohl Industrial Services has worked hard towards supporting its objectives and now has expanded its reach to almost 30 states, with a heavy presence in the Northeastern United States.
During the evolution of the company, we have focused heavily on turnkey projects involving major equipment installations and general construction. We concentrate on technical, schedule-driven projects and enjoy success on those with a high degree of difficulty. Hohl Industrial Services has become one of the largest industrial contracting companies in the Northeast over the course of our development. Our business works with both private and public entities, including many Fortune 500 companies.
Hohl Industrial Services has achieved several notable accomplishments that complements our quality, safety and excellence standards that set our fundamental path for a sustainable ongoing enterprise. In 2013, we became an Employee Owned Company and established what is commonly known as ESOP. As an employee owned company, the executive and project teams supporting your project are also stakeholders with a commitment to the highest level of professionalism and service. We are an ISO 9001-2015 certified company for quality management, assuring our clients consistency and reliability. Additionally, we hold AISC certification (American Institute of Steel Construction), which is a widely recognized standard for the structural steel construction industry. We are also ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers). These certifications complement a broad array of services and standards.
